When it comes to travel, we know there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all reason to get you to Orlando in the fall. So if none of the excuses in our first post were able to sway you, why don’t you try these on for size?
6) Extend your holiday season by celebrating early.
Have you been jamming to carols since July started? Then, you’re in luck because Christmas and the surrounding holidays come early to the Central Florida theme parks! Starting November 9th, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will feature festive decor, classic songs and seasonal parades, plus exclusive shows, complimentary snacks, and plenty of photo-ops with Santa Mickey at the Magic Kingdom®. Over at Universal Orlando Resort™, the good cheer officially begins on November 18th with fully decorated areas at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™, the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular, and Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s!
7) Befriend like-minded enthusiasts at Dapper Days.
Join guests with a knack for formal vintage and modern styles at this unofficial Disney event. People come to Orlando from all over for Dapper Days — where participants “dress to the nines” in finery from the past and present as they enjoy the parks. Participate yourself and make a few new friends — or simply people-watch! Either way, you can catch all the fashion fun November 18th at Magic Kingdom® and November 19th at Epcot™!
8) Skip the cooking and cleaning.
Who wants to spend hours cleaning after stuffing themselves with too much turkey? Not you! Skip the hassle of cooking and cleaning by having your Thanksgiving dinner chartered at Encore. Choose from Encore’s catering service or get a more intimate dining experience with our on-site chef.
Not in the mood for the Thanksgiving food? Visit the parks for a non-traditional yet memorable holiday meal. You can pack up the family and meet your favorite characters for a Thanksgiving Day meal at one of the many Disney restaurants serving turkey or other interesting fare. Although the parks generally don’t receive much decoration for this holiday, the usual Walt Disney World® Resort magic will make it unforgettable!
9) Get your pre-season college basketball fix.
Sports fans, rejoice! The AdvoCare Invitational is the perfect excuse to spend Thanksgiving (and the following weekend) at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. You’ll want to be here November 23rd through 26th for the college basketball tournament that signals the start of the upcoming season. Why fight over the remote when you can catch the action live?
10) Travel to 30+ countries in one day at Holidays Around the World at Epcot™.
If you love visiting new places but hate the hassle of airport security, we have the perfect solution. Once you arrive in Orlando, you’re all set! Leave the passports in your suitcase while selecting from the wide array of food and cultural festivities hosted by the various countries at Epcot™, from November 24th to December 30th. Holidays Around the World is sure to get your mouth watering and your toes tapping!
